Meet the NDFB Board of Directors

NDFB President Eric Aasmundstad
NDFB President Eric Aasmundstad
Ramsey County farmer Eric Aasmundstad, was elected president of North Dakota Farm Bureau in 1999 and has been re-elected five two-year terms since. He was elected to the NDFB Board of Directors in 1997 as the District 4 Director.
 
As president, Aasmundstad has been instrumental in developing Cuban trade opportunities for North Dakota businesses. He worked diligently to make federal farm bill legislation beneficial to agricultural producers. He also provides North Dakota Farm Bureau members with a strong representative presence in the North Dakota Legislature.
 
Aasmundstad and his wife, Corrine, operate a farm near Devils Lake, raising small grains and row crops.
 
Aasmundstad is a long-time Farm Bureau member and has served on the Ramsey County Farm Bureau Board of Directors as well as the NDFB Natural and Environmental Resources Committee, now known as the Agriculture and Environment Committee.
 
The Aasmundstads are members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They have three children: Britt, Taylor and Jenna.

NDFB Vice President Doyle Johannes

Doyle Johannes was elected vice president of North Dakota Farm Bureau at the 2008 Convention and Exposition, and re-elected in 2009.

He was elected to the District 6 position on the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2004. District 6 is comprised of Bottineau, McHenry, McLean, Renville, Sheridan and Ward counties.

Johannes and his wife, Patsy, have a diversified small grain and row crop farm near Underwood. They also operate a custom backgrounding feedlot.

Johannes is a past county Farm Bureau board member and president in McLean County. He is a township supervisor and treasurer, is on the church board and the local school board.

The Johanneses have three children: Matthew, Katelyn and Melissa.

District 1 Director Donald Uglem
District 1 Director Donald Uglem
Northwood-area farmer Donald Uglem, was elected as the District 1 director for the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2001. As the District 1 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Cavalier, Pembina, Walsh, Nelson and Grand Forks counties.

Don and his wife, Karen, operate a diversified farm, raising wheat, corn, soybeans, sunflowers and mint. The Uglems have three children: Troy, Randy and Kristi.

In addition to his involvement in Farm Bureau, Don is District 10 Republican Chairman, is a member of the Township Board and the Northwood Lions.

District 2 Director John McConnell
District 2 Director John McConnell
Casselton farmer John McConnell was elected to the District 2 Board of Directors position in 2006 and re-elected to a second three-year term in 2009. He is a past Cass County Farm Bureau board president and said he became involved in Farm Bureau because, "I wanted to be involved in a quality organization."

As the District 2 Director, McConnell represents Farm Bureau members in Barnes, Cass, Griggs, Steele and Traill counties.

He and his wife, VaLois, raise wheat, soybean and corn on their farm. The McConnells have three children, Kelly, Kyle and Kristen and three grandchildren.


District 3 Director Dan Delahoyde
District 3 Director Dan Delahoyde
Cogswell farmer Dan Delahoyde, was elected to the District 3 North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors position in 2005. As the District 3 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Dickey, LaMoure, Ransom, Richland and Sargent counties.

He is the president of Sargent County Farm Bureau and is involved in the Sargent County Advisory Board, the Lake Agassiz Regional Development Council and the Sargent County Jobs Authority.

Delahoyde and his wife, Phyllis, raise wheat, soybeans, edible beans and corn. They have three children: Eric, Ryan and Kyle.


Chris Brossart
District 4 Director Chris Brossart
Wolford farmer Chris Brossart was elected to represent District 4 on the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2009. As District 4 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Benson, Eddy, Pierce, Ramsey, Rolette and Towner counties.

Chris and his wife, Jennie, raise spring wheat, winter wheat, canola, barley, soybeans and pinto beans. Jennie also works in Rugby as an insurance specialist at the hospital there. Chris is involved on the St. Mary's Church Council, and is an active member of Pierce County Farm Bureau. The Brossarts have a daughter, Bria.



District 5 Director John Heaton
District 5 Director John Heaton
Driscoll-area farmer and rancher John Heaton was elected as the District 5 director for the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2001. As the District 5 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Wells, Foster, Kidder, Stutsman, Logan and McIntosh counties.

John and his wife, Yvonne, raise corn, oats, wheat and sunflowers and have a cow/calf and backgrounding operation. The Heatons have three children: Jesse, Kelli and Mariah.

In addition to his involvement in Farm Bureau, John serves as a township officer, a church board trustee and is a member of the rural fire department.

District 7 Director Wes Klein
District 7 Director Wes Klein
Hazen-area rancher Wes Klein was elected to the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2008. As the District 7 Director, Klein will represent Farm Bureau members in Mercer, Oliver, Morton, Grant, Sioux, Emmons and Burleigh Counties.

Wes is a long-time 4-H leader and has been active on the Mercer County Farm Bureau Board, serving as vice president and secretary.

Wes and his wife, MaryAnn, have a cow-calf herd, train horses and sell alfalfa. The Kleins have nine children: Justin, KaSondra, Kayla, Kimberly, Kelsey, Shiloh, Kaylene, Jacob and Shenise.

District 8 Director Tom Tarnavasky

McKenzie County rancher Tom Tarnavsky was elected to the District 8 position on the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2003 and re-elected to this third three-year term in 2009. As the District 8 director, he represents Farm Bureau members in Burke, Divide McKenzie, Mountrail and Williams counties.

Tarnavsky has a cow-calf and small grains ranch and is a member of the McKenzie County Grazing Association and the American Legion.







District 9 Director Carson Kouba
District 9 Director Carson Kouba
Regent-area farmer Carson Kouba was elected to the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2008. As the District 9 Director, Kouba represents Farm Bureau members in Adams, Billings, Bowman, Dunn, Golden Valley, Hettinger, Slope and Stark counties.

Kouba is the Hettinger County Farm Bureau President and is a Blackbutte township director. He is also a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Kouba and his wife, Kelly raise durum, winter and spring wheat, canola and buckwheat. They have two children, Kayla and Kyle.


Kimberly Lemieux

Kimberly and her husband, Doug, farm near Rolette and raise barley, canola, wheat and sunflowers. In addition to her involvement with Farm Bureau, Kimberly is a member of the Rolette School Board, is a 4-H leader, a speech judge and is involved in Dollars for Scholars. The Lemieuxes have three boys, Pierre, Mario and Adrian, and a daughter, Kaydee, and are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

As the P&E Chair, she represents that committee on the NDFB Board of Directors.





Lucas Lang
YF&R Chairman Lucas Lang
Sterling farmer Lucas Lang was elected to a one-year term as chairman of the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee at the NDFB annual meeting in 2009.

As YF&R chairman, he represents the committee on the NDFB state board.

Lang and his wife, Heather, have a no-till operation and raise wheat winter wheat and sunflowers. They also assist in the family cattle operation. Lang is active on the Burleigh County Farm Bureau Corad and is a member of the Sterling Rural Fire Department. The Langs have two children, Reagan and McKinnley.
