Here's a little end-of-the-year cheer for you. (Okay, not really, but....)
I was just reading in a dietitian's newsletter about all the fake recipes on social media that are actually scraped from legitimate sites. It was a little disturbing. I'm sharing the original post from food blogger Yvette Marquez-Sharpnack.
I have seen fake farm social media pages. I usually just deleted them, but I am thinking about it differently now. Yvette says fake sites should be reported, especially when it comes to recipes, because the fakes are literally hurting the bottom line of many food bloggers.
At On Your Table, we only share recipes from real people. That Strawberry Fluff Pie photo in the header? That's from Heather Lang!
Whether it's delectable recipes from Justin at My Complete Cooking, tips and tricks from Sam Vangsness, one of our committee or staff members at NDFB, or Julie Garden-Robinson's Prairie Fare, we always verify and ensure that what we provide is real food from real people.
Keeping it real, folks! Happy New Year!
