I have to admit, I "googled" if Wordless Wednesday was still a thing. Come to think of it, is "googling" still a thing? We could go down sooooo many rabbit holes with this "is this still a thing" line of questioning, but suffice it to say, I'm getting too old to follow fads or stay on top of trends. (Segue incoming.) I still wear a shirt that says, "My dog walks all over me" that I have had since our first springer, which has been upwards of 30 years.
We are now on springer #4 and he is my little... (Okay, maybe little isn't really the right word. He's 48 pounds and stronger than... me.) shadow.
But this blog post really wasn't supposed to be about my dog. When I used to regularly write my own blog, I did a lot of Wordless Wednesday posts featuring springer #3. So of course, that's what I thought about as I was getting ready to do a Wordless Wednesday post (oh, the situational irony!) for On Your Table.
The whole point of Wordless Wednesday is to have the photos tell the story. (Or one photo, depending, I'm guessing, on how complex the story is.)
But I am more comfortable writing than I am taking pictures, and now that I have featured #4 in this post, I guess I have to share a picture of him, because he never poses for me and he hates the cellphone. But this morning, I put him outside with a biscuit, and went back to writing. Then I sneaked to the sliding glass door to see what he was doing, and I found him looking at another window to see if I was coming outside. I snapped this photo just as he turned to look at the sliding glass door.
What a handsome boy!
Anyway, after all this wordiness, I'm having a hard time actually switching gears and dedicating a "no words" post to food, so instead of a Wordless Wednesday, how 'bout a recipe for puppy chow?
Puppy Chow
Ingredients
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup salted butter
1 12-oz. box Chex cereal (corn, rice, Crispx, whatever your preference)
2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and salted butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds; stir, then microwave for 30 seconds more. Stir until smooth.
Add cereal to a large bowl. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal; stir gently until cereal is thoroughly coated. Let cool slightly.
Place coated cereal and powdered sugar to a large resealable plastic bag. Seal bag, and shake until cereal is coated.
It all makes, sense, right? ;)
