A family that hunts together...

Topic: Leadership

By Joey Myers, NDFB Director of Organizational Development

Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons. I absolutely love the colors of fall and decorating with pumpkins and gourds. I love seeing all the combines in the field and love getting calves halter broke for different sales coming up.

But one of my favorite pastimes of fall is hunting season. This is an activity the whole family can take part in. In my family we hunt pheasants, and we hunt deer. Rifle deer season isn’t open yet for the public, but youth season finished up and there is nothing better than watching your son shoot his very first deer. He was extremely nervous at how much the gun was going to kick and I kept telling him, you won’t even feel it. The adrenaline will be pumping, and you won’t even know the gun went off! He dropped a doe with one shot at 100 yards with his new 270 that Santa brought him early.
