The North Dakota Farm Bureau Foundation, in conjunction with the NDFB Promotion and Education Committee, has released an agriculture careers app for iTunes and Google Play called Ag Careers 4 U. NDFB Promotion and Education Committee Chairman Val Wagner made the announcement during the opening luncheon of the 72nd NDFB Annual Meeting, held at the Ramkota in Bismarck, Nov. 14-15.
“A career in agriculture is more than being a farmer or rancher. There are so many incredible opportunities within agriculture to make a difference and have a rewarding career,” said NDFB Promotion and Education Committee Chairman Val Wagner.
The app is geared toward high school and early college-aged students to help increase awareness of a variety of careers available. It features ag career explanations, salary ranges, potential employers, videos from Utah Ag in the Classroom explaining a variety of ag careers and a link to agcareers.com, which lists North Dakota ag job openings.
“The app also allows us to send out updates to those who download and accept updates from the app when we have scholarship and job fair items to share,” Wagner said. “We hope this app will provide students who are thinking about careers to consider the possibility of an ag career.”
The app can be downloaded on iTunes and Google Play. iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ag-careers-4-u/id934882212?mt=8
