Being better than you were

This past weekend I attended the North Star Classic cattle show in Valley City, N.D. It is the first show I have attended since the Denver Stock Show in January. It felt great to be reunited with my livestock family. Many exhibitors have put in countless hours of preparation for the 2020 show season, so it was a good feeling to round out a tough year in the showring!

For those who may not be familiar with the show industry, it is more than just a buckle or banner. Showing livestock builds the foundation of many skills; sportsmanship, grit, determination, utilizing smart feeding programs, learning the use of antibiotics, being stewards of the land, as well as experiencing that 4 a.m. wash rack alarm.
