Memories are at the heart of traditions

The end of the year is a time of reflection. We look back on what we have achieved and how much has changed. We think about all those people who are no longer with us, and all the things that have been lost to us as we grow older.

We also think about what will happen in the future, how our lives will change, how our children will grow up, and how they might not want to do any of the things we enjoyed doing when we were their age. We might also wonder if there are any traditions that will still exist in 50 years’ time.
