NDFB Week Safety Tip #2

NDFB Week Safety Tip #2

Practice "tough love" when it comes to riders on tractors. Never allow children to ride on a tractor.

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, 100 children die in farm accidents every year in the U.S. and many others are injured, often seriously.

That's why North Dakota Farm Bureau took the opportunity to highlight safety during NDFB Week, which is being held the same week as national Ag Safety Awareness Week.

"As spring approaches, farmers and ranchers are calving and gearing up for work in the fields. It’s a great time to remind people to not get in too much of a hurry,” said NDFB Safety Coordinator Staci Lee. "We had a number of farm injuries and deaths across the state last year, and we’d like to see that change this year. Hopefully, if we increase awareness, we can make a positive difference and see fewer of those sad headlines about an injury or death on the farm.”
