Proposals sought for Ag in the Classroom programs

Created: 3/30/10 (Tue) | Topic: Education

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) and the Agriculture in the Classroom Council want ideas for helping young people understand the importance of agriculture, both in North Dakota and in their own lives.

“Agriculture in the Classroom programs provide lesson development materials, seminars, a magazine, a website and other tools to help teachers make agriculture part of everyday learning in their classes,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “The program is now accepting proposals for developing and conducting educational programs and materials to help young people learn where their food comes from and how to make healthier food choices for themselves.”

Program descriptions, as well as information on grant opportunities and on preparing and submitting proposals, are available at www.agdepartment.com  or by contacting Ken Junkert at (701) 328-4756 or kjunkert@nd.gov.

The deadline for submitting proposals is April 23.
