There's no place like agriculture

Another fall is underway, and the 2023 wheat harvest is in the books. Harvest season always makes me grateful for the privilege of farming.

Farming is unique because it is inherently connected with a place. Whether it’s crops or livestock, both are stuck to the ground. You can haul the land away in trucks, but then it’s not the same dirt anymore. The land you farm gives you roots.

In early America, pioneers seeking new opportunities staked claims, raised families, and grew communities on the ground, all over the United States.
