What we learned from RRFN today....
North Dakota Farm Bureau has been warning residents that the Humane Society of the United States would be knocking on our door. That's why the organization initiatied a petition drive last August to safeguard modern farming and ranching practices in the North Dakota Constitution.
Here's the proof, via the Red River Farm Network's latest newsletter:
"The Humane Society of the United States has released its annual ranking of states, based on their animal welfare policies. This past year, California enacted nearly a dozen new animal rights laws, helping put the state at the top of the HSUS list. South Dakota received the lowest scores in the nation from the animal rights activist group. North Dakota was tied at the 48th. HSUS indicates it will seek reform through ballot measures in the Dakota’s and Idaho."
If you aren't already a petition carrier, or haven't yet signed a petition, please do so. For more information, click here.
